Photos & Video: Monday’s Windy Weather

March 5, 2018

The island is experiencing high winds and rough seas yet again today [March 5] as a deep low passes, bringing cold and windy weather with it.

The latest forecast from the BWS said, “Gale force winds soon increase to storm force and carry into the night as a deep low passes by. Light off-and-on showers become more organized and heavy later on this evening with a risk of thunder and wind gusts reaching hurricane force at times.

“Be advised the highest winds and high tide coincide tonight lending to a possible 1-2 foot storm surge in some locations. Conditions downgrade to gale force Tuesday morning with passing light showers, then improving going forward into Wednesday.

The BWS issued a Storm Warning, Gale Warning and Small Craft Warning for today [March 5], with a Gale Warning also valid for Tuesday morning. You can follow Bernews live updates on today’s weather here and view footage from today below.
