Ministry Is ‘Robustly Investigating The Matter’

April 25, 2018

Following the circulation of a video showing a W&E truck stuck in a rather unusual position, the Public Works Ministry said it is “robustly investigating the matter.”

In response to Bernews queries, a Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works is aware of the video circulating. At this stage the Ministry advises it is robustly investigating the matter.”

The video, posted below, has been circulating recently, with the original version accompanied by someone saying “How the $#@$ did this happen. Unbelievable.”

This is why we can’t have nice things. Oh, and your trash won’t be collected today.

  2. Zevon says:

We already know that it will be impossible to find out who did this. But they will whine about not having enough trash trucks, that’s for sure.

  3. Iabingi says:

I used to do that on my motor bike

Hahahahaha! Maybe he was trying your manoeuvres

  4. Obvious says:

This is what happens when you collect the trash once per week. The trash builds up and in an effort to collect ALL the trash during the workers rounds they unknowingly overloaded the truck. When it got back to the W&E facility to be emptied the overloading resulted in the trash getting lodged in the hatch. As a result the truck tipped backwards do the weight.

In short, Col. Burch is to blame for reducing the trash collection from 2 days to 1 day.

  5. Micro says:

Looks like garbage got stuck in the compactor leading to much more weight than designed hanging off the back when the tail was opened to dump the trash.

Lucky it happened where it did instead of the whole truck falling down into the pit.

  6. Papa really! says:

    What de heck????

  7. Shag says:

From what I can see when they opened the back a large amount of the trash stayed attached to it. The extra weight attached caused the lighter front end to lift up. Nothing much the driver could do about this unless there is a protocol in effect to loosen the said trash. Front end must have come down hard when they released the trash

  8. legalgal says:

We’ll be down from once a week to once ever 2 weeks at this rate. It is possible that this is a fault with the vehicle itself.

  9. Stormy daniels says:

    W & E= wheelies and endos.
Trash will now be picked up once every two weeks.

  10. parent says:

Training should hw held by all in the wake of this and a solid process put in place I am sure the workers will object but who cares
