July 29, 2018

Sea Venture Mini Me’s wrapped up softball‘s Corporate Division with a doubleheader sweep of PWC. Mini Me’s took the first game 11-7 and the second 7-0.

Also, in the Corporate Division, Butterfield & Vallis Sliders beat Athene Warriors 12-7. Aaron Bloom and Carl Brown were both 2-3 for Sliders while their teammates Ryan Outerbridge and Brian Ming were both 2-4 with a homer.

Shaun and Kate Furlong were both 3-4 for Athene in the losing cause.

In the C Division, Super Express defeated Shooters 19 to 12. Express is finished for the regular season and has a one-point advantage over Raggamuffins, who have a game to play, and a two-point lead over Buffaloes, who have two games in hand. Those contests will be played after Cup Match.

Only two nights of games are scheduled this week due to Cup Match. Of the critical matchups happens Monday night at 9 pm as Hardknockz and Angels battle for the fourth time in the Women’s Division. If Angels win, they will force a one-game playoff to determine the Division winner.

The other key matchup occurs on Tuesday at 9 pm when Chubb Kings title hopes run through Team Smokey. Platano Power and Hakuna Mata Charters sit atop of the B Division with 25 points, and Chubb is two points down. A win would give them three more and the division. A loss would see Platano and Hakuna forced into a one-game title decider game to break the tie.

All games are played at the Michael Preece Softball Stadium at Bernard Park.
