Wales Defeat Bermuda In Lacrosse Worlds
Bermuda has started competition in the 2018 Lacrosse World Cup in Israel, losing their first game to Wales by a score of 8 – 4.
Bermuda, facing off against Wales, opened the scoring in the first minute with am Armand Wilson goal, Bermuda would jump out to a 2 – 0 lead when Cole Rance scored in the 5th minute.
Wales would score in the 10th minute with a Andrew Gresham strike and then Paul Simpson would score in the 13th and 15th minutes for Wales to take a 3 – 2 lead.
Wales would take a 4 – 2 lead in the 34th minute when James Tiley scored, but Bermuda would pull a goal back in the 42nd minute through a Rance second goal.
Simpson would complete his hat-trick for Wales with a goal in the 57th minute to make it 5 – 3, Dan Thomas would extend the Wales lead to 6 – 3 with a goal in the 60th minute, before Alex Williams would make it 7 – 3 to Wales in the 64th minute.
Bobby Walker would pull a goal back for Bermuda in the 68th minute, but Wales would close out the match with a goal from Luke Hamilton a minute later to make the final score 8 – 4.
The FIL Men’s World Championship feature 46 national teams, the largest ever, in a 10-day event.
