The Bermuda Golf Association’s golf season got underway last Saturday at Ocean View Golf Course when Jarryd Dillas fired a stellar six-under par 64 to win the Bermuda Golf Association’s season-opening September Monthly Medal.

Dillas’ round included 8 birdies and 2 bogeys and saw him claim a 5 stroke victory over Mark Phillips. In an equally dominant display, Tracy Nash recorded a three-over par 75 to win the Ladies division by 7 shots over Ann Symonds.

The next few months will be busy for the Bermuda Golf Association with a number of events scheduled.

On Saturday, 29th September the BGA Team Challenge will be played at Port Royal Golf Course. This is a four player team event using the Stableford format with two balls to count

The Bermuda Match Play Amateur Championships will be played at Port Royal Golf Course from Friday, 5th – Sunday, 7th October. The Match Play has traditionally been played at the Mid Ocean Club and this is the first time in many years that it will be played at Port Royal.

The duration of the event has also been condensed into three days with the qualifying round on Friday, 5th October, and the match play events on Saturday and Sunday with an 18 hole final. The BGA said that it is hoped the reduced duration of the event will create more appeal to a wider range of golfers.
