Hitch Mobile Application To Launch New Version
Hitch Limited announced that a new version of the Hitch Mobile App “designed to enhance the user experience with improved stability and a new design” will be available for download tomorrow.
Since its launch in December 2015, 15,000 registered users have completed over 75,000 rides using the Hitch App.
Sergio Virgil, Co-founder of Hitch Limited, stated, “Since the launch of Hitch we are proud of our progress and excited about the new version of our app. There is no question that the Hitch app has faced some challenges over the past year, as we have experienced a few outages which negatively impacted driver and customer satisfaction.
“Additionally, due to the fact the application has not been substantively upgraded since our launch 3 years ago, the app was not performing well on some devices. We have listened to feedback from users and worked to rectify these issues and produce an app that will exceed customer expectations. Additionally, we took the decision to completely rebuild the application on a new platform to ensure future stability of the application.”
Taxi operator Curtis Richardson said, “I look forward to the launch of the new version of Hitch. I’ve used Hitch for a couple of years now and it has proven to make things more convenient for not just myself but for passengers as well. I’ve tested the new version and I am happy that the team at Hitch have listened to the feedback from taxi drivers and have addressed some of the shortcomings in the app.”
The company said, “The new app is scheduled to go live at 12:30am on Wednesday, October 31st. At that time the existing Hitch App will stop working and users will need to download a new version of the app.
“Hitch is working with existing drivers to ensure a smooth migration to the new system, however on Wednesday passengers may experience limited availability during the day as we migrate existing Hitch drivers to the new platform.
“Drivers and passengers can download Hitch by visiting the Apple App Store for iPhone, or the Google Play store for Android mobile devices. There is no cost to download the mobile app and it can be used immediately after registering.
