Robotic Caterpillars Help Teach Students Coding
Bermuda High School students recently participated in the ‘Hour of Code’ initiative, with students introduced to ‘code-a-pillars’, which are robotic caterpillars made up of several interchangeable segments/blocks of code.
A spokesperson said, “Students across the school have been participating all week in the Hour of Code. Even the littlest students were coding.
“This week, one of the School’s Digital Leaders, Ashlyn Lee IB1, introduced Code-a-pillars to the EYP class. Code-a-pillars are robotic caterpillars that are made up of several interchangeable segments [blocks of code].
“Each segment determines whether the Code-a-pillar moves straight, turns right, turns left, or plays a sound. The girls were given challenges asking them to get the Code-a-pillar from point A to point B.
“It was very exciting to see them using their critical thinking and problem solving skills to create the necessary code. Older students have been taking part in a coding challenge to see who would log the most hours of coding throughout the week.”

I want the old Police station on Parliament St with selected parking in the heart of HAMILTON CITY
Are we open for business or not ?.
The old Police Station is being renovated, it is not ready to be used. I agree that the Hour of Code, and other programming or business courses should be applied to all schools, not just BHS.
