Impact To Host Spoken Word Night Fundraiser

February 26, 2019

The young men of Impact Mentoring Academy are discovering the power of words, taking the time to memorizes and commit to heart the poems and speeches being recited during their Annual Spoken Word event which is set to be held on Saturday, March 2nd.

The students at the all-boys school will be sharing motivational poems and speeches to an audience of family, friends and community supporters. The speeches will follow the theme “My Bermuda, 10 Years from Now”.

Monies raised through this initiative will help to send a group of IMA students to on their annual Humanitarian and Cultural Tour in April. The IMA PTA will also be hosting a silent auction and raffle during the event in support of this venture.

“The changes these young men have experienced in their lives is astounding. For better or worse, they will inherit the island we leave them in 10 years. The topic ‘My Bermuda, 10 Years from Now’ is a chance for our young men to put into words and share with their communities their vision for their country.” said Chris Crumpler, the school’s executive director.

“We encourage the community to come out and support the work these young men have put into sharing their vision for the future. This event doubles as a fundraiser for our upcoming humanitarian trip, this special event is designed to showcase the positive work of our young men. With the unyielding support of our PTA, we have also arranged to have a raffle and live auction during the night.”

The spoken word event will be held on Saturday March 2, 2019, at The Berkeley Institute Cafetorium, doors opening at 6:30pm. Refreshments will be available. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children 14 and under and available online from, or any Impact Student, faculty or PTA.
