Small Fire Extinguished At Devonshire Property

Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service [BFRS] personnel responded to a report of a fire inside of a container in Devonshire this afternoon [Feb 8]. Upon arrival firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.

BFRS Staff Officer Sergeant Allan Wilkinson said, “Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service received a call via 911 at 2:47 pm reporting a fire inside of a container at #3 Meadow Lane in Devonshire. Upon arrive Firefighters noticed a small flame inside of a container and quickly extinguished the blaze.

“Workmen on site reduced the potential of the fire spreading by using extinguishers prior to the arrival of Firefighters. One worker was treated on scene for minor smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire was due to the use of welding equipment.”
