Progress Reports Deadline Extended One Week
The deadline for providing parents with progress reports has been extended from March 8th to March 15th, a joint statement from the Department of Education and the Bermuda Union of Teachers said.
The statement said, “Meetings were held this week between Department of Education representatives and the Bermuda Union of Teachers [BUT] Executive in relation to matters pertaining to student progress reports.
“The meetings were facilitated by a Labour Relations Manager from the Ministry of Labour, Community Affairs and Sports.
“During the meetings, a request was made by the BUT Executive to extend the deadline by one week for providing parents with progress reports, from 8 March, 2019 to 15 March, 2019. The Department of Education agreed to honor the request of the BUT Executive.
“Parents can be assured that both the BUT and the Department of Education will continue to work together to deliver student progress reports by Friday, 15 March 2019.”
Do they still have truancy officers? I see public school kids going to school late or not at all sometimes. I remember when I was in school if you was late or didnt show up than your parents got into trouble after the 3rd warning. We also had to have our report cards signed amd brought back to school!
Well thats progress.
“Deadline”.
So it looks like they had better make a start on them sometime this week.
“During the meetings, a request was made by the BUT Executive to extend the deadline by one week for providing parents with progress reports, from 8 March, 2019 to 15 March, 2019. The Department of Education agreed to honor the request of the BUT Executive.“
Ok, but why was the request made? So teachers could be taught how to fill out a progress report on their students?
It seems that everything the civil service these days is late!
By the way Ministry people, at a very early age you should have learned that it is “lobour”, not “labor”.
Hope it’s quicker than the bus schedule
