March 11, 2019

A male motorcyclist attempted to “elude officers” in Warwick on Saturday, dropping his motorcycle and escaping on foot.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 9:45pm Saturday, March 9th police officers on mobile patrol in Warwick encountered a male motorcyclist near the Warwick Esso Service Station on Middle Road and approached him regarding a traffic offence.

“The man rode off and attempted to elude officers in the Smith’s Avenue, Warwick area off Khyber Pass.

“However, other police officers were already in the Smith’s Avenue area conducting a proactive policing initiative – causing the rider, believed to be a 21-year-old man – to drop the motorcycle and make good his escape on foot.

“Inquiries continue regarding the man involved in relation to the traffic offence.”
