April 26, 2019

The Norwegian Pearl, a Norwegian Cruise Line [NCL] ship, made its inaugural visit to Bermuda on Saturday, 20 April.

The Norwegian Pearl, sister ship to the Norwegian Jewel, Jade, and Gem, was built in 2006 and refurbished in 2017. It arrived Saturday morning from New York for a one-night stay at the Royal Naval Dockyard. This visit is the first of two calls to Bermuda this season, with the ship scheduled for 26-27 October.

Minister of Tourism and Transport Zane DeSilva said, “We welcome the Norwegian Pearl to Bermuda on its inaugural visit. The People of Bermuda have enjoyed a long relationship with Norwegian Cruise Line. Every year they bring thousands of visitors to our shores and we look forward to strengthening and growing this.” The Minister wished Captain von Knorring and his crew an enjoyable stay in Bermuda.

The 13-year old ship grosses 93,530 tons and boasts many attractions including 16 dining options, 15 bars and lounges, casinos, spas and spacious Garden Villas. Among the ships destinations include the Caribbean islands, Europe and the Panama Canal.
