Bermuda Softball League Week Four Results
In the Softball Bermuda’s Corporate Division, winless KPMG pulled off the upset of the week against unbeaten Athene Warriors by a score of 21-8. Eurique Wilson put on a 3-3 hitting clinic at the plate as well as homering. Teammate Justin Luck [2-4] also put the ball over the fence. Jeff Morash, Andrew Bonner, and Akeem Ible were all 3-3 for Athene.
PWC Shipping hammered BEST Shipping 25-10.
Platano Power slipped past Hakuna Matata Charters 23-21 in the A Division. Jeffrey Tapia [4-5] blasted two homers for Platano while Albert Acevedo [4-5], Kelvin Vargas [2-4], and Andi Percy [1-4] also took the ball deep.
Hakuna’s Brian Hall had the most hits by a batter from any team in a sterling 6-6. Mark Pacheco [5-5] was also perfect in the contest against Platano while Shannon Rayner was 4-6. Platano levelled its record to 2-2 while Hakuna fall to 0-4.
Beach Bums bested Raggamuffins in a 19-8 win in the B Division.
FIU Scared Hitless edged Team Smokey 24-22. Team Smokey relied on homers from Quincey Jones [2-3], Joel Vis [4-5], Albert Acevedo [2-4], and Zico Burgess [3-4] but it was Lateef Trott [4-4] who powered his way to three homers that kept his team’s hopes alive.
Marcus Johnson was in beast mode for FIU in going 5-5 with three homers driving in eight runs. Kyle Ball [5-5, HR], Marcellus Thomas [4-5], and Kenrick Richardson, HR] aided the win by handling the bat well.
Super Express tamed the Buffaloes 18-9 victory in a battle of previously unbeaten C Division sides.
Winless Five O’s put it all together to muzzle fellow bottom dwellers Shooters 26-6. Five O’s are now 1-3 and the Shooters are 0-4.
In the Women’s League, Angels cruised to a 21-13 triumph over Outback Skylights who finally started to hit.
Hardknockz were looking down the barrel of their first loss of the season but came from behind to down PHC Zebras 24-18. Hardknockz only managed to stay unbeaten thanks to a 15-run fifth inning. Sarah Robinson led the way by bgoing 4-5 with 4 RBI while Vanessa Paulos and Tracey Loving aided the winning cause by going 3-4 and 2-3 respectively. The top portion of the Zebras order was on fire as both Tawana Fox, Tahirah Hill and Leslie Rookes were all 4-4 and cleanup hitter Taznae Fubler was 3-3.
All games are played at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond at Bernard Park on Mondays through Thursdays starting at 6pm.
