Driver Arrested After Collision In Hamilton Parish

A driver was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after a car crash in Hamilton parish yesterday evening [May 23].

A police spokesperson said, “Around 8pm Thursday, May 23rd police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle car crash on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, near the junction with Cottage Hill Road.

“It appears that the car was being driven in the eastbound lane of North Shore Road when it struck a wall and overturned, damaging a section of the wall.

“Apparently both the driver, said to be a 36-year-old Hamilton parish woman and front seat passenger, said to be a 41-year-old Canadian man, sustained minor injuries.

“The driver was later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

“By approximately 9:35pm Thursday, the scene had been processed, the damaged car towed away and traffic flow in the area had returned to normal.

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to call Constable Stephen Allen on the main police telephone number 295-0011.”

    The police are doing their job , but the message is not impacting on the general motoring public soon enough, it is taking several weeks to have the accused appear in Court. I remember Traffic ( speeders court numbered a easy 50 persons every week ) There is something cumbersome somewhere in the process.
