Bermuda now knows exactly who will be on Haiti’s roster when the two face off in their Concacaf Gold Cup game on June 16 in Costa Rica.

Haiti announced their official squad of 23 players on Friday, becoming the first team in the tournament to declare who exactly will be in their squad.

The squad is almost all professional with players such as Josue Duverger [Vitoria Setubal SC – Portugal 1st Division] Zachary Herivaux [New England Revolution], Derrick Etienne [New York Red Bulls], and Benjamin Michel [Orlando City SC] from the Major Soccer League, Herve Bazile [Le Havre FC – 2nd Division France], and Mikael Cantave [Rayo Cantabria – 3rd Division Spain] among others.

Haiti and Bermuda rosters

Haiti finished first in the Gold Cup qualifying group, while Bermuda finished fifth out of 34 teams.

Coach Kyle Lightbourne told Bernews he expects that Bermuda will trim its roster from 40 names to 23 on May 29.

Coach Lightbourne added that Saturday night’s game against a Sao Miguel Select side, a match Bermuda won 2-1, was to give some of the players who are on the bubble to make the final roster a chance to shine and make their case for selection.

After playing Haiti on June 16th, Bermuda will play Costa Rica on June 20th in Dallas, and Nicaragua on June 24th in New Jersey.
