One Person Injured In Truck Collision In Flatts

[Updated] It “appears that one person has been injured” in a collision involving two trucks in Flatts this morning [May 31], the police said.

A police spokesperson said, “A collision involving two trucks has been reported in the North Shore Road, St. James Court area of Flatts.

“It appears that one person has been injured and the road is currently impassable. Traffic diversions are in effect and motorists are advised to take alternate routes, if possible, until further notice.”

Update 11.56am: A police spokesperson said, “Around 9:20am today [May 31st] police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported collision involving two trucks on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish.

“It appears that the vehicles collided in the St. James Court area of Flatts.

“Apparently one man sustained a leg injury and was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

“An update on his medical condition is anticipated in due course.

“Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately two hours while the scene was processed.

“Any witnesses are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”

Update 4.57pm: A police spokesperson said, “At last check, the 33-year-old man injured in this morning’s collision involving two trucks on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish, was listed in stable condition in the hospital.

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are still encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
