Tennis: Jamaica Defeat Bermuda In Davis Cup

Bermuda continued competing in the Davis Cup Americas Group III event in San Jose, Costa Rica, with the tennis team taking on Jamaica, resulting in Jamaica winning 2 – 1.

First to go on the court was Trey Mallory who defeated Jacob Bicknell in a three-set battle. Bicknell won the first set 7-6, Mallory leveled the match at 1 – 1 when he won the second set 6-3, and Mallory won the third and final set in a tie-breaker 7-6.

Tariq Simons made his debut taking on Rowland Phillips, Simons would fall in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 in a match that lasted 1 hour and 9 minutes.

With the match now level at 1 – 1, Gavin Manders and Neal Towlson took to the court for the Doubles against Dominic Pagon and Phillips, Manders and Towlson went down in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.
