Bermuda Netball: Zebras, Flames, Scholars Win

A total of 160 goals were scored in a triple header as the Bermuda Netball Summer League Season resumed at the Bernard Park.

In the opening game the PHC Lady Zebras defeated the Old Kids 37 – 17. The PHC Lady Zebras were led by Darrika Simons with 21 goals, while MVP Tyra-Lynn Simmons added 16 goals. Charlie Bridgeman scored 9 goals for the Old Kids, with Lauren Pearman adding 8 goals and Sophie Jackson was named the team’s MVP.

The Phoenix Flames defeated the Rain 32 – 26, Phoenix Flames MVP Ebonie Cox scored 28 goals, while Eshe Grant added 4 goals, Diara Benjamin scored 15 goals for the Rain, while Jasmyn Renfroe added 11 goals and Asante Chapman was named the team’s MVP.

The Xtreme Sports Scholars ended the night with a 28 – 20 win over the BUT Teachers. The Xtreme Sports Scholars got 8 goals from Nabiilah Nasir, with Zariah Amory adding 6 goals, Jordyn Morris scored 5 times, while Kaamilah Nadir and Selah Tuzo both scoring 4 goals each, Amali Smith was the team’s MVP. Danielle Raynor scored a game high 12 goals for the BUT Teachers, Tanika White added 5 goals and Makeda Goater scored 3 goals, Chelsea Somner was the team’s MVP.
