Jessica Lewis Wins Silver In Parapan 800M

[Updated with video] Bermuda’s Jessica Lewis has claimed her second medal at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Peru, winning the silver medal in the 800m this evening [Aug 26]. Yen Hoang of the USA claimed the gold in a time of 2:08.09, Lewis crossed the line in a time of 2:08.99, and Yadira Del Carmen Soturno Diaz of Venezuela won the bronze.

Ms. Lewis has already claimed a gold medal, having raced to victory on Saturday evening [Aug 24] in the 400m, and she will race one more time in Peru, taking to the track later this week for the 100m, where she is the defending gold medalist and reigning Parapan record holder.

Bermuda is currently in 11th place on the medal table at these Games, where over 1,800 athletes from some 30 nations are competing.
