Motorcyclist Injured In Hamilton Parish Crash

[Updated] Emergency services responded to a collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish early this morning [Aug 9] that involved a motorcyclist crashing into a wall and suffering injuries.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 12:35am Friday, August 9th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle crash on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish in the vicinity of Shelly Bay MarketPlace.

“It appears that a female motorcyclist was traveling east on North Shore Road when she struck a wall.

“The injured rider was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance and at last check was unconscious.

“Traffic diversions are in effect while the scene is being processed.

“Any witnesses are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.”

Update 12.57pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 12:35am Friday, August 9th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle crash on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish in the vicinity of Shelly Bay MarketPlace.

“It appears that the rider involved, said to be a 42-year-old Devonshire woman, struck a wall while traveling east on North Shore Road near the junction with Seon Drive.

“She was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of serious injuries, with the latest medical update confirming that she has been admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

“Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately four hours while the scene was processed.

“Any witnesses that have not already come forward are now encouraged to call Constable Andre Richards on the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.”
