Travel Guide Takes Visitors Off The Beaten Path

August 14, 2019

Bermudian artist and writer Jackie Stevenson is taking visitors off the well-beaten tourism path with her new travel guide to the island.

Bermuda Unwrapped is a new guide book which explores the island’s byways and folkways and looks into the nooks and crannies of island life.

Featuring brief written vignettes on everything from the island’s wildlife to its unique architectural style to such Bermudian cultural practices as Gombey dancing, Good Friday kite-flying and fitted dinghy racing, the 34-page book is also profusely illustrated by Ms Stevenson.

The one-time broadcast journalist calls the recently published book her “homage to my island home.”

Devonshire resident Ms Stevenson’s markets a line of Bermuda-themed artwork, photography and greeting cards through her Rock Fever Products website.

Bermuda Unwrapped, her first book, is available at the Bermuda Bookstore and The Bookmart at Brown & Co.
