Audubon Society To Mark Shorebirds Day
The Bermuda Audubon Society will be celebrating World Shorebirds Day on Saturday [Sept 7] with a field trip to Spittal Pond.
An annual global initiative, World Shorebirds Day is aimed at raising awareness of shorebirds along with the need to conserve them and their habitats.
The Global Shorebird Counts, held every year as part of World Shorebirds Day, is an opportunity for birdwatchers to monitor bird numbers for the international database maintained by the ornithological website.
The Spittal Pond walk will get underway from the eastern car park at 8am.
Participation is free for members, $5 for non-members. Hats [$25] and Bird ID Cards [$10] will be available for purchase.
You can visit ebird to see what shorebirds have been spotted at Spittal Pond recently.
