Bahá’ís Presentation To St George’s Mayor
As their contribution to the worldwide celebration to mark the 200th anniversary of the Birth of the Bab, Herald of the Baha’i Faith, representatives of the Bahá’ís of the East End was granted an audience with the Mayor of the Olde Towne, His Worship George Dowling III on Tuesday, October 29th.
Mr. Leon Johnson together with June Saltus, Carol Anne Stines and Marilyn Sannemalm presented Mayor Dowling with a sapling of Bermuda’s famous and practical tree, the Juniperus bermudiana, Bermuda Cedar tree.
The Mayor remarked that he was deeply honoured to join the Bahá’ís in this once-in-a-lifetime event. Bahá’ís from other parishes shared this momentous Bicentenary at the Olde Towne Hall on King’s Square for this memorable activity.
