Jonte Smith Chosen As Player Of The Month
Bermuda’s Jonte Smith has been chosen as the Autovillage Player of the Month for October.
The club’s announcement said, “Cheltenham Town striker Jonte Smith has been chosen as the Autovillage Player of the Month for October by Robins fans across social media.
“Bermuda international Smith was picked ahead of October’s fellow top performers in captain Ben Tozer, Ryan Broom and Luke Varney after making a big impact in forward areas of the pitch.
“The former Oxford United man only made one start, but netted a perfect hat-trick against West Ham United U21′s in that game, as the Robins won 4-3 in a Leasing.com Trophy tie at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.
“Smith scored with his right foot, left foot and head in the victory over the young Hammers.
“After coming off the bench to help Michael Duff’s side draw level away at Oldham Athletic in League Two, he featured at Walsall before making another impressive cameo as a substitute later in the month at home to Macclesfield Town.
“His skillful run and pass set Broom through for the final goal in a 3-0 triumph over the Silkmen, in an individual performance hailed by Duff post-match.”
