January 21, 2020

Caitlyn Bobb won the 500m race at a recent meet in the United States, with her time of 1.13.46 breaking a Bermuda indoor national record set almost 20 years ago.

Bermuda National Athletics Association President Donna Raynor said, “Caitlyn Bobb continues to burn up the indoor track. She competed in the VA Showcase at Liberty University, Lynchburg.

“Caitlyn competed in the 300m Championship winning the race out of 26 competitors in a new Personal Best of 38.61, the first time she has broken 40.00. This time ranked her 5th in the US in the 300m.

“Caitlyn then came back in the 500m Championship winning the race out of 21 competitors in a new Personal Best of 1.13.46 breaking the Bermuda indoor national record.

“This indoor record was held by Tamika Miranda from 2001 in a time of 1.13.58. This is fantastic as Caitlyn has broken this national record as a junior athlete.“
