Motorcyclist In ICU After Crash In Pembroke

A 37-year-old Devonshire man is in the ICU after a motorcycle crash early this morning [Jan 5] at the junction of North Shore Road and Black Watch Pass in Pembroke.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:50am Sunday, January 5th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash at the junction of North Shore Road and Black Watch Pass in Pembroke.

“It appears that the rider, said to be a 37-year-old Devonshire man, was traveling east along North Shore Road when he struck the round-a-bout at the junction – sustaining injuries to his chest, leg and hands.

“A member of the public came across the crash and called for assistance.

“The injured motorcyclist was tended to at the scene by emergency medical technicians before being transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and at last check had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.

“Any witnesses are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.”
