Some Ferry Route Suspensions & Delays

There will be some ferry route delays and cancellations today and tomorrow morning [March 3] while the “Department carries out maintenance and repairs to ferries in the fleet.”

A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Marine and Ports Services is advising that the 4:30 pm Blue Ferry travelling from Hamilton to Dockyard is suspended and some delays are expected on the Green Route.

“In addition, the tomorrow morning [March 3] 7:10 am ferry from Hamilton to Dockyard, and the Rockaway 7:55am ferry from Rockaway to Hamilton will be suspended.

“All other departures are expected to operate as per normal. These suspensions are needed while the Department carries out maintenance and repairs to ferries in the fleet.

“The Department of Marine and Ports apologises in advance for any inconvenience.

    Seriously? Our Government is not capable of scheduling ferry maintenance that does not disrupt the standing ferry schedule? Is that what you are telling the people of Bermuda?

    Instances like these would be extremely rare to non existent were the public transportation service privatized.
