“Extremely Concerned” About Dillon-Burgess
The police continue to seek the public’s help in locating Chavelle Dillon-Burgess, who has not been seen since last month, with Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley saying “we’re extremely concerned that either she’s been held against her will or something else has happened to her.”
Speaking at last night’s press briefing, Commissioner Corbishley said, “We are extremely concerned to her wellbeing and her current whereabouts.
“We appeal for any information, anything at all from the public, to be presented to the BPS or Crime Stoppers.
“We hope that we are going to find her well, but given the length of time that she’s been missing, obviously we’re extremely concerned that either she’s been held against her will or something else has happened to her.
“But we continue to search and I’m extremely grateful to the local community that have come out in abundance to support us alongside the Regiment, we’ve covered probably around about 90 percent of land areas in Bermuda, but we continue to search and we continue to appeal for information.”
The police had held a press conference earlier in the day in which they said, “Detective Sergeant Jason Smith said, “On the 30th April 2020, a missing person’s report was made to police by the mother of missing person Chavelle Dillon-Burgess who is 26-years-old.
“Her mother reported that her daughter has been missing since 11th April 2020. A police investigation commenced and there have been extensive searches conducted by the B.P.S. and the wider community to locate Chavelle Dillon Burgess with negative results.
“During the police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Chavelle several warning markers have been raised, leading to suspicion over her disappearance.”
Anyone with any information is strongly urged to contact the police on phone number 211 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers number on 800-8477.
