Video: Carifta 2020 Team Athletes Celebrated

May 22, 2020

While the Carifta Games 2020 were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Bermuda National Athletics Association [BNAA] is still celebrating the team, noting that they wish to acknowledge our athletes “who put in the hard work and were selected to be part of this team for the 49th Carifta Games.”

BNAA President Donna Raynor said, “As you all are aware, the Carifta 2020 Games were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic but will be held April 2nd to April 5th, 2021 in Bermuda.

“We felt during this time of many celebrations due to graduations, we would also like to celebrate our athletes.

“The BNAA felt it was very important to announce our Carifta 2020 team even though the Games were not held and to celebrate and acknowledge our athletes in the public domain who put in the hard work and were selected to be part of this team for the 49th Carifta Games.

“We would like to congratulate our athletes and a video presentation which we hope you will enjoy has been created which will be posted on our Carifta 2020 Facebook and Instragram pages. Our hope is that we have several of the same names listed in our team for next year’s Carifta Games and more.

“We always want our athletes to strive to be the best they can be and continue to working towards 2021. Whatever goals they have created for themselves, we hope that we the BNAA and the coaching staff can assist them in reaching those goals.

“We have been asked by many parents regarding the change in age for the 2020 Carifta Games being held in 2021 and we would like to advise that there has been no decision as yet.

“Not only do we have athletic achievements to celebrate, but we would also like to congratulate Ryan Outerbridge, who will be off to Franklin Pierce University this coming school year.”
