Driver Arrested After Collision On North Shore

A driver was “arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired” after a collision on North Shore Road in Devonshire on Saturday evening.

A serious road traffic collision involving a motorcar and a motor bike on North Shore Road, Devonshire, outside Mid Atlantic Boat Club.

A police spokesperson said, “At around 9:42pm on Saturday 25th July, police received a report of a serious road traffic collision involving a motorcar and a motor bike on North Shore Road, Devonshire, outside Mid Atlantic Boat Club.

“The male motorbike rider sustained a broken nose and other facial injuries as well as a broken ankle. He was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.

“The motorcar driver was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired, after he failed the breath test.

“Traffic Collision Investigators as well as officers from the Forensics Unit attended, and the roadway between Dock Hill and Barker’s Hill was blocked off while the scene was processed.

“An investigation into this incident has commenced and anyone with information is asked to call 211 or, the main police number 295-0011.”
