Bermuda Championship Seeking Volunteers
The Bermuda Championship’s BF&M Volunteer Programme is now accepting online applications for golf competition committees for the 2020 Bermuda Championship, which will be held from October 26 through November 1 at the Port Royal Golf Course.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Championship’s BF&M Volunteer Programme is now accepting online applications for golf competition committees. These committees assist with competition-related operations and are necessary for safely conducting a PGA TOUR event. The tournament returns for its second year October 26 through November 1 at Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton.”
John Wight, Group Chairman and CEO of BF&M Limited, said: “As official Volunteer Programme Sponsor for the second year, we look forward to welcoming new and returning volunteers. As we all know, in 2020 COVID-19 is impacting how sports events are run around the world and we at BF&M want to emphasise that the health and safety of all is our number one priority.
“We know it’s the priority of the PGA TOUR organising team as well. We believe a successful event can be run with rigorous and appropriate safety measures in place and we look forward to supporting our wonderful volunteers, who play such a critical part in showcasing the beauty of Bermuda to the world.”
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Championship will require a safe and responsible environment for players, caddies, volunteers, staff, and all those involved in conducting a PGA TOUR event. To review the PGA TOUR’s notice to volunteers, click here.

Committees currently accepting applications are: A Team, Access Control, Caddie Hospitality, Marshals, Practice Areas, Pro-Am, Product Distribution, ShotLink Laser Operators, TV Spotters, Volunteer Services, and Walking Scorers. “Volunteers were a driving force behind the success of Bermuda’s first PGA TOUR event, and we were overwhelmed by the support of the community,” said Tournament Director Sean Sovacool. “We are thrilled to have BF&M return as our official Volunteer Sponsor of the Bermuda Championship to help ensure we give our volunteers a memorable experience on the course.”
