Will Announce C21 Candidate In ‘Due Course’

The PLP responded to reports about a new candidate in Constituency 21 Pembroke South East, saying that Dr. Kyjuan Brown will not be a candidate, and they plan to announce the new candidate for Pembroke South East in “due course.”

A spokesperson said, “Contrary to media reports, Dr. Kyjuan Brown will not be a candidate for the Progressive Labour Party in the General Election on October 1st.

“The Progressive Labour Party will announce the new candidate for Constituency 21 – Pembroke South East, in due course.”

Pembroke South East was won by Rolfe Commissiong in the last General Election, however Mr Commissiong — who was elected with 67.25% of the vote — has confirmed that he will not be a candidate in the upcoming General Election.

The PLP has won the seat all four times — with an average of 64.8% of the vote — since the one seat system started in 2003.
