September 19, 2020

The Bermuda College will be holding a faculty recruitment campaign to “extend its legacy of quality instruction in tertiary education”.

A spokesperson said, “Bermuda College is undertaking a faculty recruitment campaign to extend its legacy of quality instruction in tertiary education. It is seeking to recruit faculty that not only have credentials and expertise, but who also carry the BC trademarks of passion and innovation integral to pedagogy. It’s all a part of the College’s Strategic Plan to extend its human capital potential over the next five to seven years.”

Senior Maths Lecturer at the College, and a former Dean of the Division of Arts & Science, Necheeka Trott, says the experience for her has been personally and professionally rewarding. “Being a college lecturer provides you with the chance to always be learning and engaging in academic studies.

“Employed for over 20 years at the College, I’ve had the opportunity to expand and develop my skills in various roles. From mathematics tutor to Dean to chairing several committees, the experience for you to grow is endless.

“Teaching in higher education also allows you to shape and inspire the next generation. It’s good to see students gain confidence as they progress through programmes, and grow academically, the climax of course, being to watch them walk across the commencement stage for their degrees, certificates or diplomas.”

The spokesperson added, “The College is specifically seeking lecturers familiar with remote learning instruction, and who can be creative and engaging as they teach online or hybrid classes in the new Covid environment, and lecturers who are intentional about making a real difference in the lives of their students.

“Two online information sessions will be held on Wednesday, October 7 at 12:30 pm. and Thursday, October 8 at 6:30 p.m. Visit the College website at www.college.bm for details.”
