KFC Treat Voucher To Benefit EDS Charity

October 8, 2020

KFC Bermuda announced that The Eliza DoLittle Society will be the local charity selected to receive all the proceeds from the 2020 treat voucher campaign.

A spokesperson said, “For the 6th consecutive year, KFC Bermuda is holding its Halloween treat vouchers for kids campaign, which is now in full swing. Past community partners have included the Bermuda Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda and Knowledge Quest.

“This year, KFC is delighted to announce The Eliza DoLittle Society will be the local charity selected to receive all the proceeds from the 2020 treat voucher campaign. During these challenging economic times of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, Eliza DoLittle is committed to educating the public on the impact of food insecurity and looking for ways to help alleviate the growing issue in Bermuda.

“In the first 9 months of 2020, they provided the local community with just over 62,000 meals through their Food Bank alone. This approach to serving the community is consistent with KFC’s annual treat voucher campaign where 100% of every dollar paid for KFC treat vouchers is donated to the campaign’s designated charity for use in the Bermuda community.

“In addition to the treat voucher proceeds, KFC staff members will be volunteering their time at Eliza DoLittle to help distribute food to those in need.

“Customers can purchase a booklet of 5 treat vouchers for only $2 throughout the month of October [while supplies last]. Individual vouchers can be distributed on Halloween, to classrooms, to sports teams or to any individual children. From November 1st, 2020 to January 31st, 2021, children aged 12 and younger can redeem a voucher for their choice of one free order of French fries, one free apple turnover or one free chocolate chip cookie.”

Danielle Riviere, Executive Director [Interim] at The Eliza DoLittle Society said, “We are delighted that KFC has decided to partner with us in this year’s Halloween fundraising initiative.

“We truly value the opportunity to spread our message to the local community. We want to make Bermuda a better place by addressing issues that exist, and providing support for those in need. We know how exciting Halloween is for our young ones, and to be included in an initiative that will help benefit our organization, is a wonderful opportunity.”

Ms. Ginene Haslam, General Manager of KFC, says: “As we kick off our 6h consecutive Halloween campaign, we are pleased to partner with The Eliza DoLittle Society. Through our broad and diverse customer base, I am sure that we can help build public awareness of this important local charity, and its initiatives. Every dollar we raise will go directly to them”.

“These vouchers are great alternative to candy. They can even be used as classroom or home rewards! Come get your vouchers today, since there is only a limited quantity available.”
