Lifeguard Season Service To End On Nov 29

November 23, 2020

Effective 5.00pm on Sunday [Nov 29], the Department of Parks 2020 Season Lifeguard Service will end.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works advises the Public that effective 5:00 pm on Sunday, 29 November, the Department of Parks 2020 Season Lifeguard Service will end.

“The Park Ranger service will continue patrolling south shore parks, however, there will be no stationary presence.

“Despite the challenges faced this season, the Ministry thanks the public for their cooperation and support and urges the continued practice of COVID-19 preventative behaviours, as outlined by the Ministry of Health, when enjoying beach/park visits. This includes the wearing of face masks and maintaining 3 – 6ft physical distancing.

“Also, in the absence of lifeguard services, the Ministry asks members of the public to be extra vigilant when enjoying the beaches and practice safe swimming habits.

“The Ministry extends its thanks and appreciation to the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service, Bermuda Hospitals Board, Bermuda Maritime Operations, and the Bermuda Police Service for their support.

“The Season Lifeguard Service is anticipated to resume in April 2021.”
