Bermuda Snooker League Gets Underway
The Bermuda Snooker League season recently got underway, with three matches taking place.
Spanish Point Boat Club Two 4 – Warwick Workmen’s Club One 1
The Spanish Point Boat Club Two team defeated the Warwick Workmen’s Club One team 4 – 1.
Tyler Moniz gave the Spanish Point Boat Club a 2 – 0 lead, overcoming Warwick Workmen’s Club’s Richard Burton 65-45 and then 58-6. Gary Bascombe pulled one back for Warwick Workmen’s Club when he defeated Spanish Point Boat Club’s Billy Wotton 48-43
John Orr extended the lead for Spanish Point Boat Club when he dispatched Warwick Workmen’s Club’s Pamela Quadroy 57-15.
In the doubles, Wotton and Orr completed the victory for Spanish Point Boat Club, defeating Bascombe/Quadroy 51-19.
Spanish Point Boat Club One 3 – Sandys Boat Club 2
The Spanish Point Boat Club One team edged Sandys Boat Club 3 – 2.
Spanish Point Boat Club’s Todd Dziak opened an early lead when he won the first of two games against Sandys Boat Club’s Paul Fedden 60-42. Fedden returned fire in the next match, leveling the score at 1-1 by defeating Dziak 59-32.
Peter Bromby put Spanish Point Boat Club in front, defeating Sandys Boat Club’s Chris Dakin 45-26. Stewart Greenslade leveled the score for Sandys Boat Club when he defeated Spanish Point Boat Club Martin Siese 52-22.
In the doubles, Greenslade and Dakin sealed a historic victory for Spanish Point Boat Club when they overcame Sandys Boat Club’s Fedden and Siese 45-34.
Watford Sports Club One 3 – Watford Sports Club Two 2
Watford Sports Club One won the bragging rights at the club as they defeated Watford Sports Club Two 3 – 2.
Watford Sports Club Two’s Arthur Jones opened the scoring, winning the first of two games against Watford Sports Club One’s Winslow Smith 57-56. Smith leveled the score by taking the next game 44-18.
Aaron Bean put Watford Sports Club One ahead when he defeated Watford Sports Club Two’s Mark Iris 62-27. Keino Zuill extended the lead for Watford Sports Club One, dispatching Watford Sports Club Two’s Dennis Parsons 66-43.
Mouchette and Zuill sealed the win for Watford Sports Club One in the doubles when they overcame Watford Sports Club Two’s Parsons and Iris 47-45.
