Burgess Replaces Commissiong On Board
A recent listing in the Government’s official notices states that Derrick Burgess is the Chairman of the Parole Board, which is a change from the notice issued earlier this year which had Rolfe Commissiong listed as the Chairman.

The official notices on November 4th said the ”Minister of National Security is pleased to make the following appointments with effect from 3rd November 2020, under the applicable Legislation unless otherwise indicated,” and provided the list below.

- Chairman – Mr. Derrick Burgess
- Dr. Cherita Rayner
- Dr. Ernest Peets
- Mr. Azeem Khan
- Mr. Delmont Tucker
- Mr. Vaughan Caines
- Mrs. LaKeitha Cunningham
- Ms. LaVerne Furbert
February 2020
The official notices on February 24, 2020 said “the Minister of National Security is pleased to make the following appointments with effect from 24th February 2020, under the applicable Legislation unless otherwise indicated,” and provided the list below.

- Mrs. LaKeitha Cunningham

As you can see above, a comparison of the two lists indicates the board members remain the same, with the exception of the change in Chairman, so it appears Mr Commissiong was replaced.
This follows after Mr Commissiong, a former MP, was recently removed as Government Senate Leader and Minister of Community and Sports, after only two days, following criticism over his appointment.
