It looks like police have abandoned roadside sobriety checkpoints in favor of catching drunks after they crash.

The police can’t be everywhere….How about road users actually take responsibility and don’t flipping well drive when they have been drinking? I agree though, we need more police traffic presence, because the driving behaviours are out of control – everyone drives like “it’s my road and everyone else is priviledged to use it!” I will squeeze myself in front of your car, pass you on the inside, tail you in your blind spot, talk on my phone, drive with my high beams on, use the invisible 3rd lane and you better get out of my way, turn without signaling, stop on a blind corner and expect you to go around you when you can’t see what’s coming, double park on a busy City of Hamilton street because I am too lazy to walk a few extra feet to pick up my chicken dinner, stop in the middle of traffic with no warning to talk to my ace boy, and never use my mirrors so I have no clue what’s happening to the left, to the right or behind me…. All in a day’s drive! It’s insane!
