Video: Minister Roban On Renewable Energy
Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs Walter Roban is joining Bernews this morning [Nov 4] for the latest episode in the Bernews News & Views series, with the Minister set to discuss the island’s plans for renewable energy.
Speaking at a press conference earlier this week, the Minister said, “I have repeatedly stated that renewable energy is our future as fossil fuels will become part of our past. Not only is the adoption of renewable energy in our future, but it will also attract investment and new jobs.
“In fact there has already been interested investors, both from overseas and locally that have approached us with proposals to introduce a variety of renewable energy technologies. While the procurement of such technologies is the purview of the Regulatory Authority, we must prepare our people to participate in this lucrative industry.
Fantastic to see the government moving Bermuda toward energy independence through renewables.
