BTUC ‘Stands In Solidarity’ With BPSU & BIU
The Bermuda Trade Union Congress “stands in solidarity” with the concerns raised by the BIU and BPSU about the Government’s recently tabled Trade Union and Labour Relations [Consolidation] Act 2020, the organisation said.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Trade Union Congress [BTUC] would like to echo the sentiments of both the Bermuda Industrial Union [BIU] and the Bermuda Public Service Union [BPSU].
“The Labour Law Reform Committee [LLRC] consideration to codify all Bermuda’s labour laws into one piece of legislation is best practice. However, the BTUC will stand with its partners against any proposal or legislation that impedes on unionism and the policy of decertification allowing nonunion members in the process.”
