Video: Police & Regiment Escort New Governor
Governor Rena Lalgie arrived in Bermuda on Sunday evening [Dec 13], and was escorted to Government House by the Bermuda Police Service and the Royal Bermuda Regiment.
She was officially sworn-in the day after her arrival, and following the ceremony, Governor Lalgie — the first Black and female Governor in Bermuda’s history — said, “It is a privilege to have begun my service as Governor of Bermuda. My family and I look forward to settling into Bermudian life.”
The Bermuda Police Service posted the video below online and said, “On Sunday 13th December, history was made when Bermuda’s first female Governor arrived with her family. She was escorted to Government House by the Bermuda Police Service and the Royal Bermuda Regiment. Welcome to Bermuda Governor Lalgie!
