Tourism Board Announces ‘Global CEO Search’
A “global CEO search will be launched,” the Bermuda Tourism Authority Board announced, adding that the “aim is secure the services of an individual best suited to advance the core goals of the National Tourism Plan and to see us beyond pandemic recovery.”
Glenn Jones has been serving as Interim CEO since March 2020 after the former CEO Kevin Dallas stepped down in February 2020.
A spokesperson said, “The re-establishment of tourism as a genuine twin pillar of Bermuda’s economy is vital to the social and economic success of the Island. These extraordinary times demand that we acquire the precise talent needed at all levels of the organization.
“A global CEO search will be launched, and this will provide the opportunity for the Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA] to determine what expertise is available and how we best position the organization to discharge its critical mission on behalf of Bermuda.
“An open, transparent, and rigorous process will be led by the BTA’s Board and the aim is secure the services of an individual best suited to advance the core goals of the National Tourism Plan and to see us beyond pandemic recovery to an era of Bermuda as the ultimate destination of choice for travelers.
“The BTA could not have been better positioned for its next phase of growth and development without the dedication, commitment, and tireless efforts of interim CEO Glenn Jones.
“His steadying hand and presence have provided encouragement to the valued staff and he has been a bridge between stakeholders and local tourism economy participants during a period of great uncertainty. We owe him our collective gratitude.”

Seriously? We are in a COVID world and we are head hunting a CEO while our citizens struggle?! That’s like the Gaming Commission where we are head hunting regulators and we have NO casinos to regulate! This is all insane!
Who TF would want to work for the BTA, with the muppets in Cabinet drooling over your shoulder all day long?

I would say after (Bermudian) Kevin Dallas was driven from office and obviously (Bermudian) Glenn Jones does not meet the standards of the PLP Government. So much for Bermuda for Bermudians!
Global CEO search for Bermuda Tourism in this day and age does not add up,its Okay for Mr.Glenn Jones to do it until they bring someone in,pay them top dollars, pay their rent,plus all the other perks,and they will send most of their money back home,you mean to tell me a Bermudian cannot do this.
Trust me boo , if in this ‘New Bermuda’ Glenn Jones didn’t automatically get it then something must be going on.

What the PLP Government wants is someone who will do as he or she is told. The Bermuda Government cannot threaten Bermudians the same way it can threaten ex pates to do what they are told.
Glenn Jones is the man for the job.
He has been doing an excellent job as interim CEO.
