BFRS Respond To 301 Calls In January

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a total of 301 emergency incidents in January 2021, with firefighters handling pole fires, electrical fires, trash fires, oven fires, flooding incidents, and more. A breakdown of the incidents per fire station during the month is below.

Hamilton Station

  • 71 Automatic Fire Alarms [AFA’s]
  • 5 Pole Fires
  • 1 Electrical fire
  • 1 Trash fire
  • 2 Oven fires
  • 4 Emergency Special Services [floodings, persons locked out of car, road cleanup after Road Traffic Collision]
  • 54 EMS incidents

Port Royal Station

  • 18 Automatic Fire Alarms [AFA’s]
  • 3 Pole Fires
  • 1 emergency special service [flooding]
  • 1 controlled burn which was a nuisance to neighbors
  • 1 emergency special service [flooding]
  • 34 EMS incidents

Clearwater Station

  • 18 Automatic Fire Alarms [AFA’s]
  • 1 emergency special service [flooding]
  • 1 emergency special service [flooding]
  • 85 EMS incidents with 76 including the fire appliance from Clearwater Station
