Equestrian: BEF Call A Halt To 2020/21 Season

March 11, 2021

The Bermuda Equestrian Federation Board, [BEF], led by new President McKeisha Smith, have given due consideration to the Bermuda Government’s Return to Sport Guidelines.

“Whilst equestrian sport is not deemed to be a contact sport, attendance at equestrian events, to date, remains restricted to a maximum of 25 persons at any given time. As such the BEF Board has determined, with immediate effect, to end the 2020/2021 BEF competition season as it relates to BEF pointed classes, ” a spokesperson said.

“Members who may be interested in holding schooling events, within the permitted guidelines, are invited to reach out to the Return to Sports Committee for additional information as to what this would entail. Please note that the Bermuda Dressage Group is able to return to sport within the current Government-mandated guidelines and has permission to hold events.

“Directors share in this disappointment and eagerly look forward to a positive and safe return to competition for the upcoming 2021/2022 season.”
