ICO Decision On Savvy Entertainment Info

March 3, 2021

After an applicant asked the Cabinet Office for records relating to Savvy Entertainment, the Information Commissioner has issued a decision that “finds that the Cabinet Office failed to decide the Applicant’s request for an internal review within the statutory timeframe” and the Information Commissioner has “ordered the Cabinet Office to comply with the requirement to issue a decision on the request for an internal review.”

While the nature of the exact PATI request filed is not stated, Savvy Entertainment is the company who got the $800,000 ‘loan’ from Government, and as of last check, the loan has not been paid back.

A spokesperson said, “Information Commissioner Gitanjali Gutierrez issued Decision 02/2021, Cabinet Office, in February 2021.

“The Decision considers the failure of the Cabinet Office to issue an internal review decision within the 6-week timeline required by the PATI Act. The requested internal review decision concerns a PATI request for records relating to Savvy Entertainment Limited.

“Because the Cabinet Office did not issue an internal review decision during the Information Commissioner’s review, it is ordered by the Information Commissioner to conduct an internal review and issue its decision within four weeks of Decision 02/2021.

“Failure to decide investigations and decisions by the Information Commissioner help to ensure that public authorities respond to all PATI requests and abide by the timelines for doing so as outlined in the PATI Act.”
