Driver Arrested After Car Crash In Paget

A driver “was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired” after a car crash on Harbour Road in Paget last night [April 2] which resulted in the vehicle overturning.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 10:40 p.m. on Friday 2nd April, 2021, police responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision on Harbour Road, near the junction with Pomander Road in Paget.

“Officers arrived to find the vehicle overturned and lying on its roof, with two men trapped inside.

“However, they were both able to get out of the vehicle on their own, having sustained only minor injuries.

“The driver, who at the time appeared disoriented, was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired after he reportedly failed a breath test.

“Traffic was diverted away from the scene while the roadway was being cleared of debris and the vehicle removed.

“Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call, 211 or, the main police number, 295-0011.

“The public is reminded to allow themselves ample time to safely get to their final destination, before the 11:00 p.m. start of curfew.”

    This is a chronic problem. Police should be stationed at bars during closing to prevent this from occurring.
    If this is occurring while people are visiting homes, the host should be held responsible.
    Why risk your life and other people’s lives. You are not invincible.
