Bernews & Glenn Jones To Host Storm Special

June 10, 2021

With an aim to elevate our coverage of the hurricane season, Bernews has teamed up with Glenn Jones for a ‘Stay Ready Storm’ feature, which is set to begin with a live broadcast at 8.00pm on Wednesday, June 16th.

While better known in recent years for his role with the BTA, Glenn has years of experience in media locally and overseas, and Bernews is honoured to team up with the Emmy Award-winning journalist in order to provide full and comprehensive coverage throughout the hurricane season.

While we hope the island is spared, if a storm should affect the island we have plans for upgraded coverage, with Bernews to provide live updates and weather streams, while Glenn is set host live video coverage with interviews, essential storm updates and more.

In addition, as we have already upgraded our data visualization capability for our Covid coverage, we will utilize those methods as well for storms, providing more charts and data orientated coverage.

Presented by the Lindo’s Group of Companies, with Duracell, BELCO, Freisenbruch Meyer and the Ministry of National Security, the coverage will begin on Wednesday, June 16th with a Bernews Hurricane Preparedness Special which will be live streamed here on Bernews.com and across our social media platforms.

Glenn said, “At this moment in my career, I have the privilege of working on projects I’m really passionate about. This is one of them. I have complete respect for Bermudian-owned small businesses like Bernews and I’m thrilled to partner on a project that helps the news site level up on what it already does well.

“I hope our “Stay Ready” storm coverage elevates hurricane season coverage across local media, particularly in the pivotal hours leading up to a storm. “My thanks to the sponsors who believed in this fresh idea and lined up quickly in support.”

A Bernews x Glenn Jones collaboration is very exciting. Production quality already looks better than what the other media on island are putting down.

Hands down the best news person I have seen in Bermuda. Fabulous voice and he would make me feel calm in a storm. He definitely comes across as informed and compassionate!

I’ll be tuning in during a storm as long as we keep WiFi and Electricity!

Seriously, congrats Glenn you did a fine job at BTA and I hope many opportunities come your way! Some exempt company would be thrilled to have you as their Public relations officer!
