Bus Route Detours Due To Hamilton Road Works
Starting tomorrow morning [July 9], bus routes 1 and 3 in both directions will be detoured due to road works in the Shark Hole Hill, Hamilton Parish area.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Public Transportation [DPT] advised that starting tomorrow morning [Friday 9 July], bus routes 1 and 3 in both directions will be detoured due to road works in the Shark Hole Hill, Hamilton Parish area.
“Through Monday, the route 1 bus will travel up Collector’s Hill onto Verdmont Road, turning right onto Middle Road to Flatt’s Inlet then on North Shore Road to connect back onto Route 1 at the roundabout at Wilkinson Avenue. The route 3 bus will continue on to Flatt’s Inlet and North Shore Road to Wilkinson Avenue in Hamilton Parish.
“Additionally, due to the trench works on Harrington Sound Road, the route 3 bus will be detoured from July 14 to 21, 2021 or until the roadway is suitable for passage by buses.
“The route 3 bus will continue on to Flatt’s Inlet and North Shore Road to Wilkinson Avenue in Hamilton Parish.
“As the road works advance, test bus runs will be done to determine the safe passage of buses. The detour will be used whenever the trenching causes the road way to be too narrow for buses to pass.
“Passengers needing transportation on route 1 from the Collector’s Hill bus stop to Wilkinson Avenue and passengers needing transportation on route 3 from Flatt’s Hill bus stop to Wilkinson Avenue are encouraged to find alternative arrangements when the detour is in place.
“The DPT thanks the public in advance for their patience and cooperation.”
