White & Hopkins Compete In Cycling Overseas

July 5, 2021

Conor White’s 2021 debut in Europe was cut short as a race in Antwerp was abandoned after 37km, while Kaden Hopkins was back in action in the Spanish Cup.

White’s race ended as the Districtenpijl Ekeren-Deurne UCI 1.2 was effected as officials looked out for the safety of the competitors.

Officials called a halt to the race following cold, wet and dangerous conditions.

Kaden Hopkins was back in action in the Spanish Cup. The 55th Guadiana Circuit, as it did a month ago in the Guerrita Trophy, saw a sprint finish.

This time the victory went to an imposing Rodrigo Álvarez, who with a hard attack in the last kilometers of the 170k Copa De Espana race, finished just ahead of Guillermo Silva and Joan Bennassar.

Hopkins finished 79th overall with an overall time of 3:49:39, 4:07 behind the winner.
