Section Of North Shore Closed Due To Collision
[Updated] A section of North Shore Road in Shelly Bay remains closed this morning due to a collision which damaged a utility pole.
At 6.30am this morning [July 19] police spokesperson said, “Please be advised the North Shore Road remains closed in the area of the “Howzat” liquor shop in Shelly Bay due to a single vehicle injury only collision which damaged an electricity pole.
“Traffic headed East, continues to be diverted along Harrington Sound Road and over to the South Shore Road or Knapton Hill.
“Traffic headed west, is being diverted along Wilkinson Avenue to Paynters Road and onto the South Shore Road. Motorists may also use Knapton Hill to access South Shore Road.”
Update 7.48am: A BELCO spokesperson said, “Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited [BELCO] crews are currently working to replace a utility pole and repair damaged wires following a single vehicle accident near Shelly Bay early this morning.
“Crews are on site working to have the road open to single lane traffic by approximately 8am. Motorists are encouraged to take Harrington Sound road this morning while repairs continue.”
